E house

Being the fourth house built by Ricardo Agraz for this client, it is important to notice that several changes in the family’s life have lead to constant moving.

Named E House, it seems to conquer a quite complex site, achieving a subtle and peaceful dialogue with other neighboring houses. Regarding the drafts, building comes out of three borders that give place to very dynamic exterior spaces in a standard ground plan for a triangular site.

A large central patio protected by a wooden lattice that controls light and shadow becomes the articulating point where family activity takes place. And a double height space where entrance and foyer are completes the area which is also animated by a circular stairway that leads to the second floor.

Light plays a main role that finds splendor in wide open white spaces, generating high quality rooms that dialogue with the outside by carefully thought windows. These look out to noble gardens that surround the house recognizing the geometry and movement of the terrain.

Natural building materials bring a sober language that is also elegant, ornament free, signaling the simplicity of lines.

The house itself talks about an architecture that is capable of bringing out the best in simple and strong spatial conditions, and in figures brought up from clean and depurated sketches.
